Hi Ani, I think that turning 13 is a big deal. You are at another milestone on the road to becoming an adult.
I remember turning 13 and also being puzzled by the fact that so many of my friends talked about fighting with their moms. My mom and I were very close and we did little fighting. She also listened to me and gave me a lot of responsibility and freedom. Remember that when I was 16, she made me pay all the family bills so that I would learn how to budget and how expensive running a home is. She also taught me to do the income taxes, which I did every year until 2 years ago when Boppa's and Aunt Ellie's trusts made it too complicated.
So have fun on Wednesday and next Saturday and enjoy being a teenagers. Before you know it, you will be learning to drive. In fact, when I was 13, my grandmother let me practice driving in her driveway on Cape Cod. I learned a lot from that practice!
love, Gran
p.s. Tim, you are right about the "bad moods". How can you spark her into a good mood?

We have nothing to add Tim's insight.
We would observe that Ani and Laura are not alone.
