TIM is Sick
Well we left Yellowstone today and after a great dinner in Wendys * a very gluton free friendly fast food joint* we drove on one of the prettiest hiways in N. A. 14 Alt through 9435 foot mountain passes to the sound and smell of Tim PUKING... poor Tim. We are in a motel for the night. he is asleep and I, Jon, spent an hour at the car wash/laudramat cleaning up from the first huge double puke. after the first one, he had a ziplock bag that he hurled into... here is a picture of Ani holding Sage Brush and a damp towel next to her nose sitting next to him. I will also put up some more pics too... We are in BUFFALOW Wyoming for the night.

Greetings all! Here we are at the internet cafe in West Yellowstone MT. The weather is beautiful, we are heading back into Yellowstone Park to do more hiking and check out some more geysers and the like. We had a great time at Old Faithful yesterday - the wait for it to pop was worth it, it must have been 100 feet or so! We also stayed at the KOA - Oh, the humanity! But Jon opted to take us to a spot with a pool, which was nice and worth it. We may steer clear of KOA's from here on. The bathrooms (at least the ladies) were chock full of people working on their makeup and hair! Ani did avail herself of 2 showers...
We've been very very close to bison, and even saw a coyote yesterday. Jon is very excited about his sighting of a lazuli bunting.
The Grand Tetons were definitely a huge highlight, so incredibly beautiful!
Well, we're on by the minute so ciao for now!

BASEBALL
Still in Haily Idaho! Went thrift store shopping this afternoon and Jon totally scored some sweet shorts and Tim grabbed a great bag while Laura found a pair of shorts, some shirts and Ani found a hat...
But the real excitement (besides Spain beating Russia 3-0 in the semi finals) was Dannies baseball game. It was the finals of the season- ie his team was ranked 2nd and made it through the playoffs to the finals... so the evil other team score 5 in the first, and tacked on 3 more in the 2nd inning to make it 8-0 in the bottom of the second inning but the game only lasts 4 innnings..... so Dannies Team scored 1 in the bottom of the second; Danny started pitching top of the 3rd and got 2 strike outs and a fly out. his team scored 5 in the bottom of the 3rd inning... Danny struck out the side in the top of the 4th... then his team scored 2 runs to make it 8-7 with Danny being up to bat; he hit a hard single to tie the game. Danny stole second. a soft single is hit and Danny rounds third and runs home to beat the tag for the game winning run!!! Too much fun! Off to Grand Teton National Park tomorrow!!! Uncle Jon has called and want to put us up at a hotel in an amusement park near Cleaveland!!! YES! Dont know when we will blog again but sometime soon! jon out

Hellooooo from beautiful, extremely hospitable Hood River, OR! No, we didn't make it too far today, but managed stops in Portland and here on this, the first day of our cross country adventure.
We had a nice visit with our friends the Robbins in Portland, though Jon and Ani have colds and can't be near Madeline. Madeline is our friend who is almost 5 and has a very rare and aggressive cancer and is being treated and has been for almost a year. Her mom Taeryn is Laura's good friend and workout partner so she and Laura snuck in a lap swim and the rest of the family did errands and played frisbee.
We found a Pho restaurant in Portland, favorite quick cheap food of gluten free people. For those who are sadly unaware, Pho is Vietnamese noodle (rice noodle) soup and we all love it.
Then it was on to the Columbia River Gorge and one short and one long waterfall hike. We did the forced march to the top of Multnomah Falls, really one of the most beautiful places on earth.
It was a totally pleasant day pretty devoid of any complaining or bickering. Yup, day 1... We'll see how we are on that front in a couple of weeks time.

Random

No words can describe this. At least I can't.
Trying to get in the habit of blogging again. Here is the best picture ever. You can tell it is about a year old as Tim's last haircut was about that long ago. Still... best picture ever...
When not busy here this is kinda what we do.

When not busy here this is kinda what we do. I don't really have anything much to say except that I am looking forward to driving away and no longer being able to worry about all the loose ends I have to tie up before I go.
See you in a few weeks!
Laura
WE CAN'T WAIT!
