voting
Yup! We voted for Obama!!! Also I spent a couple of hours tonight making phone calls for Jeff Merkley who is the D running against Gordon Smith for the US Senate. I was supprised how many people planned or had voted for Obama but did not know who they were voting for in this Senate race! Pretty exciting!!! I guess the only thing that can get me out of the red sox and financial doldrums is an Obama win in November!!! Crazy that we have voted already! Jon out.

Dear children,
On the one hand, I continue to be very proud of you for being responsible citizens and always exercising your right to vote.
On the other hand, your choices have not, do not, and will never diminish my love for you.
I continue to hope for opportunities to discuss, without emotions getting in the way, public policies and their priorities without reference to specific candidates, office holders, and political parties.
Sometimes, in a reflective moment, I think about my own political choices over the past half century and wonder why I voted the way I did at the time.
Of course, I have always been absolutely convinced that, at the time, I was so wise in the past and would continue to be so in the future. Sometimes, I rationalize the differences between some of my past and current positions by saying that it's different this time or that I've become aware of facts that I didn't recognize at the time.
Ah, human nature...
Anyway, I love the fact that you take your votes seriously and that you're also willing to work publicly for your positions. Go get 'em!
Love to all,
Sam/Dad
Three cheers for early voting. I am amazed at how many states now have it and how many people are taking advantage of it! It seems as if the polling places can release how many registered dems, republicans, and indepents have voted, but not how they voted. So far more republicans have voted in FL.
We and Boppa will vote on Nov. 4. I am very ready for this race to be over.
love, Gran
